EWC wins McCook tournament

The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Golf Team recently returned from McCook, NE where they won the one-day tournament with a total score of 304. McCook Community College was second with a score of 309.

“It was great to go and get a total team effort win on such a difficult golf course,” share Coach Zach Smith. “We’ve been battling McCook all year for the top spot in the region so it’s encouraging to get a win on their home course. We will continue our momentum as we play in Sterling this week.”

Leading the Lancers with a tied score of 74 were Cameron Heath, freshman, Bolton, United Kingdom and George Elliott, freshman, Salisbury, United Kingdom. Heath and Elliott tied for 3rd in the tournament.  Other Lancer scores were as follows:

Kash Kaufman, freshman, Torrington, WY, 75 – tied 4th
Trey Massey, sophomore, Lander, WY, 75 – tied 4th
Dalton Bingham, freshman, Riverton, UT, 76 – 6th
Gonzalo Arcelay Fernandez-Meras, freshman, Munguia, Spain, 81
Jared Pilkington, sophomore, Scottsbluff, NE, 82

The next tournament for the Lancers will be held April 12-13 in Sterling, CO.
