The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Golf Team won the McCook Community College hosted tournament with a two-day total of 631 (319-312). Central Wyoming College was second with a two-day score of 655.
Freshman Harry Walch won the tournament with scores of 75-78, 153. This is the second tournament win in a row for Walch who is from Staines, England.
“McCook has a very challenging golf course so I was happy to walk away with a win,” said Coach Zach Smith. “It’s very hilly which challenges our players physically and mentally. It was great to have Harry win back-to-back tournaments. Once again, it took a total team effort to pull off the win. I am proud of the team.”
Other scores from the Lancer team were as listed below.
Jared Pilkington, freshman, Scottsbluff, NE – 84, 74 – 158, tied 3rd
Calum Giffen, freshman, Kelty, Scotland – 80, 84 – 164, tied 6th
Denton Shaw, sophomore, Lusk, WY – 80, 84 – 164, tied 6th
Arvy Shongwe, freshman, Ezulwini, Swaziland – 84, 82 – 166, tied 8th
With one day off, the Lancers traveled to Riverton, WY to play in the last tournament of the season hosted by Central Wyoming College October 2 – 3.
