This guide demonstrates how to select text from the World Wide Web*, copy it, and paste it into Microsoft Word. Whether you are a “keyboard person” or a “mouse person”, you’re in luck – the procedure can be completed using either tool! And, in general, you can utilize the steps below to “copy/paste” between most software applications.
1.Selecting your text: You need to first select the text you wish to copy from the Web. This is known as the “source text”. To highlight your source text, simply position your mouse at the beginning of the text you wish to copy, click and hold down your left mouse button, drag your mouse over the text you wish to copy, and release the left mouse button when done.
