Female Leaders at EWC

As a therapist in my former life and now a president of a community college, I believe that change cannot occur without development and continued improvement of a college’s leader. To ensure that our future leadership grows with competent people, I firmly believe that we must grow our own leaders and invest in those unique opportunities and programs for emerging leaders. This year we were lucky enough to send four of our “up-and-coming” lady leaders to the first week-end of the Academic Management Institute in Vail. Tami Afdahl (Director of College Relations); Margaret Farley (Associate VP of our Douglas campus); Mai Lee Olsen (Recruitment and Admissions) and Susan Stephenson (Director of Financial Aid) are learning lots about leadership and having fun too, I hope. This is a great opportunity for four strong leaders to learn trends and issues that will impact our college and teach them skills to transform our institution ensuring student success at EWC.
