Eastern Wyoming College welcomed several new employees to campus this fall.
New faculty and staff members include the following:
Sridhar Budhi, Chemistry Instructor. Dr. Budhi holds a B.Sc., 2002, from University of Madras, Chennai, India in Chemistry; a M.Sc., 2005, from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India in Chemistry; a M.S., from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD; and a Ph.D, 2015, from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO.; National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Iowa State University. Sridhar has been teaching undergraduate chemistry classes and labs for the University of South Dakota, Iowa State University, and Colorado School of Mines since 2008. He was selected for the “Best Teaching Assistant Award” in 2009 by the USD chemistry department. He, his wife, and brand new baby are looking forward to life in rural Wyoming.
Holly Courtney, Cook. Holly comes from New Mexico. Most recently she has been cooking at the Torrington hospital and for the Goshen County School district. Along with her cooking expertise, she brings a welcoming personality and a sense of humor to the EWC cafeteria.
Brandy Horejs, GEAR UP Grant Coordinator. Brandy has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Chadron State College, Chadron, NE an Associates from Eastern Wyoming College. Before taking the GEAR UP position, Brandy was the Accounts Payable Technician in the EWC business office.
Roger Humphrey, Education Instructor. Roger has spent the past 32 years in various positions in the public school systems, serving as a classroom teacher, building principal and central office administrator. Roger is currently serving as the Assistant Superintendent for curriculum, assessment and professional development with Campbell County School District in Gillette. Mr. Humphrey has also served as the Director of Title I in Gillette, Assistant Superintendent in Goshen County, Elementary Principal at Baggs Elementary in Cheyenne and Elementary Principal in Pine Bluffs. Roger has completed his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration at Chadron, his Bachelors at the University of Wyoming and has an Associate Degree from LCCC.
Michelle M. Landa, Ed.D, Vice President for Academic Services. Michelle was most currently the Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon. TVCC is a Community College offering 44 majors and 54 technical career programs. Michelle has also worked for the College of Western Idaho as the Institutional Effectiveness Director. Mrs. Landa has served as the Dean of Instruction, Student Services, Institutional Effectiveness at Brown Mackie College in Boise. Michelle has also worked as a Professional Consultant for EBS where a database was developed to assist higher education. Michelle received her Ed.D from Argosy University, Master of Art’s Degree from Seton Hall University and her Bachelor of Arts’ from California State University. She has also taught communications at the College of Western Idaho, Bakersfield College and Taft Colleges. Michelle brings with her a strong background in management of instruction and data collection.
Ed Meyer, Human Resources. Ed completed two Masters of Science degrees, one from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater OK, and one from Air Command & Staff College, Maxwell AFB, AL. His Bachelor of Science Degree in History is from the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO. Ed has extensive military experience with training, planning, and policy management. He has also served as the Director for the Cowboy Challenge Camp at Guernsey.
Ashly Nash, Custodian. Ashly was a EWC Criminal Justice law enforcement student, Skills USA member, Speech and Debate Club Member, honor student, and Civitas Group Award winner. She had been working part-time in the custodial and food service departments.
Autumn Pierce, Animal Caretaker. Autumn is a 2014 EWC Vet Tech graduate. She has been working as a Vet Tech at Midtown Animal Hospital in Gering, NE since graduating from EWC.
Keith Smith, Webmaster, Keith comes to us from Oklahoma, where has been working in the graphic communication field for the last ten years. Mr. Smith is a Powell, WY native and he attended Northwest College there and is now pursuing a B.S. in Graphic Communications from Chowan University, Murfreesboro, NC.
Sally Watson, Learning Administrative Specialist. Sally has served as the Administrative Assistant for Special Ed and Transportation at Southeast High School. She attended LCCC before starting work for the State of Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality in Cheyenne.
Henry Woehl, Welding Lab Coordinator, Douglas Campus. Henry holds a B.S., 1975, from Chadron State College, Chadron, NE, in Industrial Arts, a M.S. 1976, from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, in Industrial Education with a secondary area in Industrial Engineering. He is also an AWS Certified Welding Inspector and Educator. Henry retired in 2013 from the Converse County School District #1 after thirty-seven years of teaching in the vocational department at Douglas High School. He has a long time relationship with EWC and has been heavily involved with Skills USA. Henry has also worked in the field as a welder for E and N Roustabouts in Douglas.
