Several EWC team ropers in top ten at Sheridan College rodeo

Eastern Wyoming College team ropers occupied four of the top ten short round qualifying spots recently at the Sheridan College rodeo. Trey Yates, sophomore, Pueblo, CO and partner Brit Ellerman, University of Wyoming, finished the long round in second place with a time of 6.8 seconds. They finished the rodeo in 4th place in the average. The EWC team of Blaine Finney, freshman, Ainsworth, NE and Denum Santero, sophomore, Minatare, NE won third in the long round with a time of 6.9 seconds. They were 5th in the average. Tate Benson, freshman, Scobey, MT and partner Cotey Hansen, sophomore, Berthold, NE were 5th and 6th respectively in the long go and short go. Rounding out the team roping for the Lancers was the team of Logan Milligan, freshman, Torrington, WY, and partner Joby Barquin, Casper College who were 7th in the long round with a time of 7.4 seconds.
Finney also qualified for the short round in the steer wrestling by placing 4th in the long round with a time of 4.8 seconds.
In the tie down roping, Yates was 4th in the long round and 5th in the average. Also qualifying for the short round were Cody Colman, sophomore, O’Neill, NE and Cody Lane, sophomore, Torrington, WY.
Bull rider Dalton Cunningham, sophomore, Bloomfield, NE was 5th in the long round and average.
The season continues with the next college rodeo taking place in Lamar, Colorado.
