Tasks & Duties

 

 

Tutor individual and small groups of students for the purpose of reinforcing instruction in an assigned learning environment. Monitor students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments (restrooms, playgrounds, hallways, bus loading zones, cafeteria, parking lots) for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students. Perform clerical functions (scheduling, copying) for the purpose of supporting the teacher in providing necessary records/materials.

Skills Required
  • Operate standard office equipment, plan and manage projects
  • Internet research, perform basic math, understand written procedures, write routine documents, speak clearly and understand multi-step written and oral instructions
  • Recognize age appropriate activities, concepts of grammar and punctuation, keyboarding, stages of child development, technical and non-technical production for classroom materials
  • Communicate with school age children
  • Work as a part of a team
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • MUST HAVE FEDERAL WORK-STUDY ELIGIBILITY
  • BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED
  • Prefer students pursuing a major in education
  • This position qualifies for Federal Work-Study Community Service
  • Must have completed FAFSA.
Average work hours needed per week per student: 6-10
Monthly pay schedule with Hourly Wage: $8.25
