EWC wins home golf tournament
The Eastern Wyoming College Lancers hosted their spring golf tournament in Torrington on April 22-23. The Lancers won the tournament with a score of 567. McCook Community College was second with 612.
“We had two great weather days for our tournament and the guys took advantage of it,” said Coach Zach Smith. “Overall the whole team played well, it was a great way to take advantage of our home course advantage. It felt great to shoot -9 as a team. The guys at the golf course did a great job of getting the course in terrific shape. We are excited to head to Riverton this week for our last Region IX tournament of the year.”
Taking first place for the two-day tournament was sophomore leader Tomas Kubata from Prague, Czech Republic. Kubata shot 70 each day for 140 and the first place finish. Other Lancer scores were as follows:
