EWC Archaeolology Symposium
Exploring Early Cultures in America The area in and around Sunrise, Wyoming has been used by humans for tens of thousands of years. Join us June 27-29 for a free symposium exploring the nature of this ancient mine and the Paleoindian people who were the first to mine the Red Ocher found here. Agenda Thursday June 27 6pm Reception at the Eastern Wyoming College’s Fine Arts Center. 7pm Symposium Session 1 Dr. Bruce Bradley Dr. Rafael Suarez Sainz George Zeimans Friday June 28 9am-4pm Walking tours, demonstrations and hands on activities at the Sunrise Mine. (shuttle service from EWC available) 6pm Evening Refreshments in the EWC Fine Arts Center 6:30 pm Symposium Session 2 Dr. Astolofo Araujo, Dr. Leticia Correa Dr. Clark Werneke Saturday June 29 9am-4pm Walking tours, demonstrations and hands on activities at the Sunrise Mine.
