The second-place team was Kasey Powell, Kerby Caves, Scott Hickman and Aiden Hickman. Finishing in third place was Cayl Carpenter, Shayna Carpenter, Cole Montgomery and Amanda Montgomery.
Individual hole-prize winners were Maddie Fujimoto, women’s longest drive; Cayl Carpenter, men’s longest drive; Evita Babraityte, closest to the pin; and Shannon Orr, closest to the pin.
The weekend began Sunday evening with a no-host mixer at The Club, providing alumni, friends and supporters an opportunity to gather and reconnect before Monday’s tournament.
For EWC alumnus and tournament participant Cayl Carpenter, the event was an opportunity to enjoy the course while reconnecting with fellow Lancers.
“The alumni golf outing was an absolute blast!” Carpenter said. “Connecting with other alumni and friends for a day playing golf in perfect weather was amazing! I can’t wait for next year’s event! Go Lancers!”
EWC Alumni & Friends extends a special thank-you to The Golf Club at Devils Tower and its staff for their outstanding hospitality throughout the event. The staff provided a welcoming experience for players and guests and played an important role in the success of the inaugural outing.
The event was supported by three hole sponsors: Rocky Mountain Power, the Carpenter Family and Road Runner Service & Supply, LLC.
The outing also featured raffle prizes donated by Tin Lizzie Gaming Resort in Deadwood, South Dakota, and Heartland Embroidery, which donated a Lancer-themed basket. EWC Alumni & Friends thanks the sponsors and raffle donors for their support of the event.
“The goal of Alumni & Friends is to create opportunities for people to reconnect with EWC and with one another,” Alumni & Communications Coordinator Jenna Krul said. “Seeing alumni, friends, supporters and our current student-athletes together on the course was a great way to celebrate those connections. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, sponsored, donated and helped make our first outing such a memorable experience.”
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to visit with our graduates and the many people who support Eastern Wyoming College,” said Lisa Johnson, executive director of the EWC Foundation. “These connections matter, and we look forward to finding more ways to bring people together, share what’s happening at EWC, and keep our alumni and friends connected to the college.”
Todd Peterson, President of the Foundation, also expressed appreciation for the collaborative effort that helped make the tournament a success and shared enthusiasm for future alumni gatherings.
“For the inaugural event, it could not have been any better,” Todd said. “I thank all of the participants, the sponsors, the donors and the staff at The Golf Club at Devil’s Tower for their engagement and support. The Foundation staff did an outstanding job of organizing and conducting the event. We look forward to making this an annual event and having additional events throughout the year to bring alumni and friends of EWC together.”
