EWC Board of Trustees Seeks Candidates to Fill Board Vacancy
TORRINGTON, Wyo. – The Eastern Wyoming College Board of Trustees is seeking qualified individuals interested in serving on the College’s governing board following the resignation of Trustee Randy Adams.
Adams began serving on the Board in 2019, and his current term expires in 2028.
In accordance with Wyoming law, the Board declared a vacancy during its regular meeting on May 12. The remaining members of the Board now have 30 days to appoint a qualified elector to fill the vacancy. The appointed trustee will serve until the November 2026 General Election, when voters will elect a trustee to complete the remainder of Adams’ unexpired term.
The Board of Trustees consists of seven members who play a critical role in guiding the College’s mission, strategic direction, fiscal stewardship and commitment to providing accessible, high-quality educational opportunities for students and communities throughout Goshen County and the surrounding service area.
To be considered for appointment, applicants must be qualified electors under Wyoming law and residents of the Eastern Wyoming College District, which includes Goshen County. The vacancy and appointment process are governed by Wyo. Stat. §22-18-111 regarding vacancies, Wyo. Stat. §21-18-303(a)(xii) regarding district boards and Wyo. Stat. §22-1-102(a)(xxvi), which defines a qualified elector.
Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest and a resume outlining their professional background, community involvement and vision for the future of Eastern Wyoming College. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to the mission and long-term success of community college education and EWC students.
Applications should be submitted to the Eastern Wyoming College Board of Trustees, Attn: Jackie Van Mark, Chairperson, c/o President’s Office, T247, 3200 West C Street, Torrington, WY 82240. All materials must be received at the EWC President’s Office no later than 1 p.m. on May 27, 2026. Late applications will not be considered.
The Board may invite selected applicants to participate in public interviews during the next scheduled Board meeting on June 9. The Board intends to appoint and seat the new trustee at that meeting.
