EWC Campus Update, April 16, 2020

April 16, 2020

Eastern Wyoming College has the following Campus Update for Thursday, April 16, 2020.

Refunds are currently being processed, on an individual basis, for residence hall students. Please watch for your refund.

On April 9, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education released details regarding its distribution of emergency coronavirus assistance to postsecondary students. This student assistance constitutes the first round of emergency funding under the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) established by Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act, and is part of more than $14 billion allocated by the CARES Act to higher education institutions and students. EWC has submitted its request to receive its portion of the funding and would like to ensure impacted students receive some additional help to cover unforeseen expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the COVID-19 epidemic, including food, housing, technology, health care, child care, and course-related materials. Students will need to request this assistance through a simple online application that will be available soon. Please watch EWC’s website for more details in the coming days.
