Eastern Wyoming College sophomore golfer Tomas Kubata has signed his national letter of intent to play for Mississippi College in Clinton, MS next year. Kubata led the Lancers his freshman season winning two tournaments and placed second in two others, helping to seal the team’s Region IX championship.

In the fall, the team competed in scrimmages and only one tournament which was the National Preview tournament held in Lubbock, TX. Kubata finished 8th at that tournament. The spring season will kick off March 25 at the Otero Junior College tournament in LaJunta, CO.

“I am grateful for the opportunity that Mississippi College has given me,” said Kubata. “I would like to thank coach Zach Smith, everybody at EWC, and the whole community for the support over the last 2 years. I really appreciate it. I am looking forward to my final season as a Lancer, the team looks very strong.”

Coach Zach Smith shared the following about Kubata, “Tomas has been a great teammate and Lancer student from the minute he arrived from the Czech Republic. He has taken his team captain role and president of Phi Theta Kappa very seriously this year. He has had a great run at EWC and I’m excited to see what he can do this spring season. I’m also excited to see him continue his education and his golf career at Mississippi College. He’ll be truly missed when he graduates from EWC.”
