EWC Hosts Campus Clean-Up Event

EWC Hosts Campus Clean-Up Event
On Thursday, March 27, 35 students, faculty, and staff gathered for a campus clean-up event at Eastern Wyoming College (EWC). Over two hours, volunteers participated in yard work and cleanup efforts around the residence halls and the staircase connecting Lancer to Tebbet.
The event brought together students from a variety of campus groups, including the Men’s Basketball team, Women’s Volleyball team, GSA, Block and Bridle, the Art Club, and the Social Sciences Government class.
“This event is a wonderful tradition at EWC,” EWC professor, GSA sponsor and event organizer Ellen Creagar said. “It not only allows students to serve their campus and local community, but it also helps them gain a deeper understanding of the hard work required to maintain beautiful spaces. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the sense of community among students, staff, and faculty.”
The clean-up event is part of a long-standing initiative to engage students in hands-on, meaningful community service, and it continues to serve as a learning opportunity for those involved. The event was made possible through the leadership of the EWC Grounds Crew, Zane Freouf and Donnie Snyder, who provided bags, gloves, rakes, and blowers to help organize the event and ensure the safety and efficiency of the volunteers.
A heartfelt EWC thank you goes out to all of the participants who took time out of their busy schedules to contribute to the success of the event, as well as to the grounds crew for their continued support and dedication to maintaining the beauty of EWC’s campus, Creagar added. Special thanks are extended to Bill Engel, Men’s Basketball Coach; and Georgia Younglove, Block and Bridle Sponsor, who also participated in the event.
