Eastern Wyoming College Offers Intro to Hobby & Basic Repair Welding Course
TORRINGTON, Wyo. – Eastern Wyoming College Community Education will offer an Intro to Hobby & Basic Repair Welding course this spring for individuals interested in learning practical welding skills for home, ranch or farm use. The four-week, hands-on course is designed for participants with some, little or no prior welding experience. Taught by Matt Reichert, EWC welding faculty, the class introduces students to a variety of welding processes and welding power sources, emphasizing both safety and real-world applications. The course concludes with the completion of a small welding project. “Welding is more than just fixing something that’s broken,” Reichert said. “It’s a skill that builds confidence, encourages creativity and gives people the ability to turn ideas into something useful. This class is a great starting point for anyone who wants to learn how to weld in a practical, approachable way.” The class will be held Saturdays on Feb. 21, Feb. 28, March 7 and March 14, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the CTEC Welding Lab. The cost to enroll is $200. A minimum of five students is required, and enrollment is capped at 10 participants. Welding helmets and gloves will be provided for those who do not have their own. Participants are asked to wear long pants and leather boots or shoes.
