EWC Rodeo Competes at Lamar Rodeo

Last weekend, the EWC Lancers traveled to Lamar, Colorado, for the fourth College Rodeo of the season.
In Saddle Bronc Riding, Trey Shadlock led the Lancers with a 78-point ride in the long round, placing 3rd and advancing to the short round. Shadlock came back in the short round and scored 79 points to place 2nd. With his two strong rides, Shadlock finished 3rd in the average.
Hunter Mancina also advanced to the short round after scoring 76 points in the long round to place 7th/8th. Mancina improved his score in the short round, earning 77 points to place 4th–7th. He finished 6th in the average.
In Barrel Racing, Tayler Johnstone posted an 18.75-second run in the long round to place 6th and advance to the short round. Johnstone returned Sunday with an 18.31-second run to place 6th again in the round. She finished 7th in the average.
Cameron Capshaw represented the Lancers in Team Roping, placing 9th in the long round with a 12.2-second run as the header. In the short round, Capshaw and his partner posted a
15.0-second time after receiving a ten second penalty for the barrier. Capshaw finished 3rd in the short round and 4th in the average.
With help from the team, the EWC men’s team finished 6th overall in the team points standings for the weekend. The Lancers Rodeo Team will make one final trip this season as they travel to Cheyenne, Wyoming, for the last rodeo of the season.
