EWC ties for 2nd at McCook
The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Golf team recently returned from the tournament in McCook, NE which was called after 18 holes due to the weather. The Lancers tied Central Wyoming College for 2nd with a score of 324. McCook won the tournament with a score of 320.
“Weather conditions at the last two tournaments have made it difficult on all of the teams. The guys had a hard time really getting into a groove where they could put together a good score,” shared Zach Smith, Coach. “McCook was able to outperform the rest of the teams to win at their home tournament. We are looking forward to playing in 2 tournaments the first week of April and hopefully will regain some confidence.”
Leading the Lancers was sophomore George Elliott, Salisbury, England, who shot an 80, which tied him in 6th place. Other Lancer scores were as follows:
Harry Walch, sophomore, Staines, England – 81, tied 8th
JoVin Tan, freshman, Taiping, Malaysia – 81, tied 8th
Gonzalo Arcelay, sophomore, Munguia, Spain – 82, tied 13th
RJ Moya, freshman, Three Rivers, TX – 82, tied 13th
The Lancers will play in Lincoln, NE April 2-3 and then in Sterling, CO April 4-5.
