EWC to host strategic planning listening sessions at Hulett and Sundance High Schools

October 31, 2019

Eastern Wyoming College President Lesley Travers and other EWC leaders will be at Hulett High School on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, from 3:30-5 pm and at Sundance High School on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 6-7:30 pm to solicit input on a strategic plan to guide Eastern Wyoming College for the next five years.

These are just two of many sessions which have been held throughout the EWC service area this fall.

“These sessions are very important for us to create a strong five-year plan that includes these outreach areas,” Travers stated.  “These meetings will help us set priorities and areas of focus that are important to people in these communities and the campuses that EWC serves. I want to be at these personally to ensure that we hear about people’s hopes and dreams for the college; whether it is a degree or employment training. We want to hear about the obstacles that surround those dreams as well as ideas on how to overcome the challenges.”

The listening sessions are in addition to discussions on the Torrington and Douglas campuses that are focused on developing a roadmap for EWC. With this input, EWC’s Cabinet will complete the initial five year plan draft with presentations of the draft to the campus communities and stakeholders in the spring. Following approval by the Board of Trustees, the plan will be implemented at the start of the 2020-2021 fiscal year. A website will be created to follow the strategic planning process.

This listening session is open to all who are interested. For more information, please contact Dr. Margaret Farley, Vice President of the Douglas Campus at 307.624.7010.
