The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Golf team won the tournament hosted by Lamar Community College and finished the fall season winning 5 out of 6 tournaments. The Lancers shot 594, placing them 16 strokes ahead of McCook Community College who finished in 2nd place with a score of 610.

“We were happy to get out of Lamar with a win,” said Coach Zach Smith. “Overall we didn’t play the best as a team but it was enough to get a team and individual win to close out the final season. Tomas has been playing very well all season so I was happy to see him get another individual win. He is now sitting 2nd place in the region. We sit in the 4 top spots in the region and 5 out of the top 8 spots for first and second team all-region points as we finish out the fall season.”

Tomas Kubata, freshman, Praque, Czech Republic, won the tournament with scores of 71 and 68 for a total of 139. Other Lancer scores were as follows:
RJ Moya, sophomore, Three Rivers, TX, 78, 73 – 151, 4th
Max Maynard, freshman, Colchester, United Kingdom, 73, 79 – 152, tied 5th
JoVin Tan, sophomore, Taiping, Malaysia, 76, 77 – 153, tied 7th
Mason Hale, sophomore, Atkinson, NE, 74, 83 – 157, 9th
Lucas Howell, freshman, Colorado Springs, CO, 85, 77 – 162, 12th

The Lancer Golf team will begin the spring season March 19-20 in LaJunta, CO.
