The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Rodeo team traveled to Loveland Colorado for the Skyline Stampede hosted by Colorado State University April 5-7. Six Lancer athletes made it back to short go Sunday.

It was a successful weekend for Lancer freshman, Kyler Clark, of Yoder Wyoming. He and his partner from the University of Wyoming racked up an 8.2 second run in the long go of the team roping, and clinched the average win with a 7.9 second run in the short go.

“Going into the short round at seventh we just wanted to make a clean run and see where that placed us. (I’m) happy with how it turned out and hoping to finish strong at the next two.” Clark said.

In the calf roping, Lancer Cooper Phillipps, of Burwell Nebraska, finished third in the average with 9.9 and 9.8 second runs. Teammate Seth Glass, of Central City Nebraska, finished out his weekend sixth in the aggregate with a matching 9.9 second run in the long go and an 11.5 second run to finish out his weekend.

Sitting second in the region for the goat tying is RaeLee Caldwell of Gillette Wyoming. Caldwell, finished her weekend third in the average with a 7.2 second run in the long go and an impressive short go with a 6.6 second run.

The Lancers will head to Casper College next weekend for the college rodeo April 12-14.
