“Overall the guys played well for our first tournament out this spring,” EWC head golf coach Zach Smith said. “To fall just 2 strokes short of first place is tough but there are some tremendous things to take away from this tournament.”

The Lancers finished the tournament with a +12, two strokes behind McCook Community College.

Northeastern Junior College finished in third place, followed by Lamar Community College, Otero College, and Central Wyoming College.

EWC’s Suttka and Taylor finished in a tie for sixth place with a +4, while Behle finished in 10th place with a +6. Other members of the Lancer team competing included Ryker Dunkley, Andrew Stannard, and Tyler Fraser.

“Some of our freshmen have matured and settled into college golf well between the fall and spring season that should help us move forward this season and into next year,” Smith said. “We are all excited to keep playing in tournaments every week, now we just need mother nature to cooperate.”
