EWC’s Glass wins 2nd in breakaway at CSU rodeo

Eastern Wyoming College Lancer rodeo team competed in the annual rodeo hosted by Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. Several Lancers qualified for the short round.

Sophomore Brooke Glass, Sidney, NE, won 2nd in the breakaway roping with times of 3.1 and 3.8 seconds to help the women’s team remain in the number one position.

Garrett Murphy, sophomore, Torrington, WY placed 5th in the average of the Tie Down Roping with a total time of 23.0 on two calves. Teammate Jace Roselle, freshman, Greeley, CO, placed 6th with a time of 23.4 on two. Colton Reed, sophomore, Wiley, CO, qualified for the short round.

In the Team Roping, freshman Ty Chasek, Harrison, NE, placed 2nd in the first round and 5th in the average with partner Cord Roberts, LCCC. Reed, Roselle, and Jacey Thompson all qualified for the short round of the team roping.

Thompson, sophomore, Yoder, WY, split 3rd-4th in the first round of the goat tying. Teammate Karissa Rayhill, sophomore, Martin, SD, qualified for the short round.

The Lancers will compete in Casper, WY April 19-21.
