Five Lancers Compete in Short Go

The Lancers traveled to Casper, Wyoming for the Ropin’ and Riggin’ Days hosted by the Casper College Thunderbirds. Five college athletes representing EWC made it back for short go Sunday.
In the team roping, two teams with EWC students found their way to Sunday. Brenna Herring of Veteran, Wyoming and Brenlee Logan of Rock Springs, Wyoming came back ninth with a 12.2 second run and ended their weekend 10th. On the heel side, Kyler Clark, of Yoder, Wyoming ended his weekend third in the average with two respectable runs of 8.5 and 7.9 seconds.
Lancer RaeLee Caldwell, a Gillette Wyoming native, ended her weekend fifth in the average in the goat tying. A 7.1 and a 9 second run allowed her to gain points while working toward making her CNFR debut in the middle of June back in Casper.
In the breakaway roping, EWC freshman Brenna Herring also made an appearance. She put together a 3.1 second run in the long go and a 12.2 second run with a barrier penalty in the short go to place her sixth for the weekend.
Lancer Bridger Amiotte, a sophomore from Wall, South Dakota punched himself a ticket for short go Sunday with a 6.3 second run in the long-go and ended his weekend 10th in the average.
The Lancers will travel to Laramie, Wyoming next weekend for the Laramie River Round-up hosted by the University of Wyoming. This will be the final rodeo for the Lancers of the 23-24 season, and regional champions will be crowned.
