Former EWC welding instructor recognized by the American Welding Society

According to a February 2020 edition of the American Welding Society (AWS) Welding Journal, long-time Eastern Wyoming College welding instructor Leland Vetter was recognized as a Class of 2019 AWS Counselor during FABTECH in Chicago, IL.

AWS Counselors are recognized for “serving the welding community and industry with distinction and organizational leadership that has enhanced the image and impact of the welding industry.”

The article shares the following about Vetter: Leland Vetter is recognized for his long and distinguished service to the welding industry and AWS for more than 35 years. He has taught specialized weld training for the industry at the collegiate level and brought widely known welding classes and programs to the community.

Vetter began teaching at EWC in 1980 and retired in 2014.

Other AWS Counselors recognized were Bernard Banzhaf, Anthony Blakeney, Jean-Paul Boillot, John R. Bray, Jorge J. Perdomo, and Donald J. Tillack.
