Gov. Gordon will be EWC’s graduation Keynote Speaker

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon will be the keynote speaker at Eastern Wyoming College’s 75th Anniversary graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 10. The ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. and at 2 p.m. in the EWC Fine Arts Auditorium on the Torrington Campus.

The EWC students graduating with an AA, AS, and ADN will take part in the ceremony at 10 a.m. Students graduating with an AAS and Certificates will take part in the ceremony at 2 p.m. The college will sponsor a graduation luncheon for students and their families between ceremonies.

“On behalf of Eastern Wyoming College, I would like to congratulate the graduating class of 2024,” EWC President Dr. Jeffry Hawes said. “The College is proud of your achievement and wishes you the best in all of your endeavors.”

Eastern Wyoming College Director of Nursing, Dr. Monica Teichert and EWC Math Associate Professor Jake Clark will be the Masters of Ceremonies.

“EWC is honored to have Governor Mark Gordon as our guest to deliver the commencement address to the graduating classes,” Hawes said.

Governor Gordon, who grew up on his family’s ranch in Johnson County, “where he learned the values of hard work and integrity and the importance of working together,” according to his website bio. He was elected Wyoming’s governor in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.

Eastern Wyoming College Nursing Program’s Pinning Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 11 on EWC’s Douglas Campus from 9-11 a.m.
