Lancers continue to gather points at CWC rodeo
The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer rodeo team competed in Riverton, WY October 1-3 at the annual rodeo hosted by Central Wyoming College.
Karissa Rayhill, a sophomore from Martin, SD continues to earn points toward her quest for a College National Finals Rodeo qualification. She split 1st/2nd in the first round of the goat tying, split 6th / 7th in the short round and finished tied for 3rd/4th in the average. In the barrel racing, she split 3rd/4th in the first round, split 5th/6th in the short round and finished 4th in the average.
Freshman Cort McBride, Meridan, WY, won the first round of the team roping with partner Bodie Herring, Casper College with a time of 6.4 seconds. They were 5th in the short round and finished 4th in the average.
Ty Moser, freshman, Volga, SD, was 5th in the first round of tie down roping. He split 5th/6th in the short round and ended the weekend 4th in the average.
“Karissa had a great weekend and we also had some of the women’s team finish just out of the top 10,” said Coach Jake Clark. “This young men’s team is just getting stronger every weekend.”
The Lancers will conclude their fall season October 8-10 in Lamar, CO.
