Sagebrush & Roses was ‘Fantastic’

Eastern Wyoming College’s Foundation annual fundraiser, Sagebrush and Roses, held at the Goshen County Fairgrounds Rendezvous Center on Jan. 25, was a “great success,” according to EWC Foundation Director Lisa Johnson.

“We had 380 people attend this year’s event, and we raised $65,845 from donations, sponsorships, tickets, and our action,” Johnson said. “It was a fantastic evening.”

Money raised at Sagebrush and Roses supports scholarships and program needs for agriculture students at EWC.

Dr. Jeffry Hawes, President of EWC, told guests that enrollment in the agriculture programs at EWC have increased 15 percent in the Fall of 2024.

The 17th annual fundraiser featured traditional elegant decorations, a live band, and lively auction. The tablescape featured homemade bread and cutting boards embossed with the EWC Lancer, custom-made by students from Guernsey-Sunrise School.  The cutting boards are available for sale for $30 by contacting the EWC Foundation at 307-532-8304.

The auction included a golf trip to Devils Tower, a Money Tree with 500 lottery tickets and an aerobatic airplane ride at Tailslide AcroRodeo. The AcroRodeo will be held May 17-18 at the Torrington Municipal Airport.
