Student Senate and Phi Theta Kappa raise funds for March of Dimes
Eastern Wyoming College Student Sentate and Phi Theta Kappa recently held the annual EWC March for Babies event, a fundraiser for the March of Dimes.
There were 40 EWC faculty, staff, students and community members that walked 3.2 miles on Thursday, April 25th. The participants raised close to $1,100 to help fund the mission of the March of Dimes.
Volleyin’ for Babies was held on Saturday, April 27th with thirty-six participants on eight teams. Two special volleyball alumni were able to join the cause, Helena Khouri (Class of 2018) and Adele Cass (Class of 2015). “Our extended Lancer Family was able to raise over $1,500 for the March of Dimes and we sincerely thank everyone who participated for your support,” said Julie Sherbeyn, EWC Student Success Center Director and event organizer.
The March of Dimes is a national organization that raises money to give hope to nearly half a million babies born too soon each year. Proceeds from all of Eastern Wyoming College’s March of Dimes events will be donated to the March of Dimes to help fund prematurity research and to help all moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies.
