EWC Rodeo Team finishes 1st at Lamar CC Rodeo

The Eastern Wyoming College men’s rodeo team after four fall rodeos are in second place behind Gillette College. The team finished the weekend in first  at the annual rodeo hosted by Lamar Community College.  The women’s team finished the rodeo in fifth place.
In team roping EWC teams of Troy Wilcox, sophomore, from Red Owl, SD and Cotey Hanson, freshman from Berthold, ND, placed 2nd, 3rdplace were Derek Weinreis, sophomore from Sentinel Butte, ND, and partner Levi O’Keeffe, sophomore, Mohall, ND and the team of Tyler Wortman, sophomore from, Highmore, SD and Trae Kautzman, sophomore from Walcott, ND placed 4th.
Josh Davison, freshman, from Miles City, MT placed 5thin Bull Riding.
In the Barrel Racing, Michaella Lay, freshman, from Torrington, WY placed 4th. Mardee Sierks, sophomore, from Brewster, NE had a 3rdplace finish in Goat Tying.
“It was a great weekend overall. It was nice to finish on top. Our goal is to remain consistent. The women’s team had a great rodeo. I am excited to see the progress” said coach Jake Clark.

This weekend the team will travel to Cheyenne, WY for the final fall rodeo at Laramie County Community College.
