Sagebrush and Roses

Tickets are now available for one of the region’s most popular fundraisers, Sagebrush & Roses. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Goshen County Rendezvous Center in Torrington, Wyoming. Tickets are available online at ewcsagebruchandroses.com.

Input on Developmental Disabilities Five-Year-Plan Sought

The Wyoming Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities is currently seeking input for the 2027-2031 Five-Year-Plan.

Every five years, the Wyoming Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities travels the state of Wyoming to speak to communities about gaps in services for people with developmental disabilities. This feedback is used to build the Council’s Five-Year Plan, which drives the Council’s work. If you have information or concerns about people with developmental disabilities in Wyoming, please join a listening session or complete an on-line survey, your input is needed.

Human Trafficking for Professionals and First Responders Held at Eastern Wyoming College, Tebbet Building Room 131 This training provides a comprehensive overview of human trafficking, focusing on the cases and trends affecting local communities. Attendees will gain insight into the complexities and wide-ranging nature of this crime through real-life case studies. The session equips professionals with essential tools for identifying, screening, and responding to potential trafficking or exploitation cases. Participants will also learn best practices for working with individuals who may have experienced trafficking, fostering a trauma-informed and effective approach to support and intervention.

Human & Social Trafficking 101 Held at Eastern Wyoming College, Tebbet Building Room 131  This engaging awareness presentation explores the fundamentals of human trafficking with a spotlight on local trends and cases. In addition to covering the basics, the session delves into the rising issue of social media, gaming platforms, and other online spaces. Special attention is given to vulnerabilities affecting youth, empowering attendees with the knowledge to recognize red flags and take proactive steps to protect and support at-risk individuals.
