EWC invites the public to Thomas Bresadola, master hypnotist

Eastern Wyoming College will host Master Hypnotist Thomas Bresadola on Friday, August 30th at 7 pm in the Fine Arts Auditorium, 3200 West C Street, Torrington, WY. This event is free and open to the public.

Master Hypnotist Thomas Bresadola has the experience, expertise and excellence that you demand in a professional entertainer. Thomas Bresadola is funny. Thomas brings a seasoned comedic style to his hypnosis show that enable him to stand heads and shoulders above other entertainers. The Thomas Bresadola Hypnosis Show is so great that we will put him up against ANY entertainer. We are sure that you will agree that Thomas’ performance is the best!

Master Hypnotist Thomas Bresadola is very proud to tell you that he performs CLEAN! Thomas has received countless praises from people throughout the world. However, Thomas will tell you that the number one complement was from the comedy club owner of the world-famous Comics Café who said, “I have seen every stage hypnotist out there. Yes, Master Hypnotist Thomas Bresadola does hypnotize his volunteers. Thomas holds a B.A. in Psychology, is a Board-Certified Master Hypnotist, Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Neuro Linguistic Programmer, Certified Hypnotist and Certified Sports Hypnotist, AA in Humanities and a Technical Degree in Television Production.

Master Hypnotist Thomas Bresadola has personally developed a unique form of super hypnosis that can keep a subject in a hypnotic trance deeper and longer. EWC to host block party

Eastern Wyoming College Student Activities would like to invite the community to attend a block party on Saturday, September 7, in the main campus parking lot located at 3200 West C Street in Torrington.

Food Trucks will serve from 6-9 pm with a live concert from 7-10 pm. There will be a family fun zone with a bouncy house and more.

Live music will be provided by Third Rail from Cheyenne, WY. The band has two EWC alumni with Casey Jones as lead and Jack Robbins on bass.

This block party is free and open to the public. Alcohol will not be allowed at this event or on the campus.

EWC hosting a tailgate party to kick off volleyball season

Eastern Wyoming College would like to invite all Lancer fans to attend a walking taco tailgate party on Tuesday, August 27th, 5:30-7:00 pm prior to the first home volleyball game. This will be held in the CTEC parking lot located just north of the Verl Petsch Jr. Activities Center. This event is free and open to all Lancer fans.

The Lancers will play Western Nebraska Community College at 7 pm.

EWC to hold gunsmithing open house

Eastern Wyoming College will be holding an open house for the community to visit and explore the new Gunsmithing program. The Open House is being held on Wednesday, August 28, 3-5 pm at 800 South Wind River Drive in Douglas.

Financial Peace University begins September 24th

Eastern Wyoming College is now taking registrations for Financial Peace University. The first class meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 24th, from 6-8:00 pm.

Instructor: Kimberly Russell
Financial Peace University is a life-changing program that teaches you how to make the right decisions with your money. You will be empowered with practical skills and confidence to achieve your financial goals and experience true financial peace. Each of the lessons deal with a different topic that will change the way you think about personal finance. Dave Ramsey teaches how to save money, living on a budget, communicating about money, eliminating debt, finding bargains, and experiencing the joy of giving. If you are struggling with financial problems or planning for retirement, this is a great program for you.

The cost of this class is $134. ($109 of the fee is for materials) couples may share materials and each pay the $25 instruction fee. This class will be held in CTEC 210.

EWC Trustees filling vacant seat

In a regular monthly board meeting held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, the Eastern Wyoming College Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Trustee Marilyn Fisher.

The Board is now accepting letters of qualifications and interest from individuals to fill the vacant Torrington-Prairie Center Sub-district 4 Trustee position.  The appointee must reside in the Torrington-Prairie Center Sub-district and shall serve until a successor is elected at the next election in November 2020.

EWC highlights upcoming Community Education classes

The Community Education office at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington is offering the following classes.

Power Yoga
Instructor: Catherine Redfern
Power Yoga is a fitness-based yoga practice, building internal body heat, increasing stamina, strength, and flexibility. It moves quickly, is an intense workout that will make you sweat, is great for strength training and makes you feel energized. This level of yoga requires you to be moderately fit as the poses are more physically intense. Limited adaptations & modified can be made to poses based on individual needs.

Gentle Yoga
Instructor: Sandra Huckfeldt
Gentle Yoga encourages a highly individualized approach to practice with an on-going encouragement to make moment-to-moment adjustments, slight modifications of the standard poses of hatha yoga.

Men Only Yoga
A yoga class designed just for men! Build flexibility and strength through an active vinyasa practice with a variety of poses and sequences. Get your heart rate up and break a sweat in this early morning workout. Yoga is one of the few physical activities that has a “de-compacting” effect on the body & counters the effects of gravity associated activities such as running or jogging, and provides much needed “symmetry relief” to such asymmetric endeavors as racquet sports and golf, which torque the spine in only one direction. And the best part is you don’t even have to be able to touch your toes!

Mixed Level Yoga

Increase your balance, flexibility, strength, and stamina. Help alleviate stress, worry, fatigue, pain, insomnia and promote general well-being in the body, mind, and spirit.   This class meets the needs of individuals with varying levels of yoga experience.
