Program Overview

Agriculture is one of the top economic driving industries in Wyoming. It plays a significant role in the economic development for our national, state and local economies, businesses, farms, and ranches. Agriculture touches every part of our lives. If you are interested in working in one of the many different areas of agriculture, EWC is the place for you.

For individuals choosing to pursue a degree path in Agriculture, there are two main options at EWC.

  • The first being our Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) for those students wanting to return to the farm or ranch after graduation from EWC.
  • The second option would be our Associate of Science degree (AS) for students who want to further their education by transferring to a four-year degree program, after graduating.

There are many excellent careers you can go into with a two-year agriculture degree:

  • Farm and Ranch Management
  • Sales (Seed, Fertilizer, Equipment, Crop Advisor, Feed)
  • Grain Merchandising
  • Farm Store Management
  • Spray Operator
  • Loan Officer for a bank or Farm Credit Services
  • Feed Mill Manager

What kind of salaries are available in the field of Agriculture?

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics lists the median annual wage for farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural managers was $75,760 in May 2022. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. the lowest 10 percent earned less than $37,440, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $139,040.
