
The EWC International Archaeology Symposium, taking place July 24–26, 2025, is hosted by the EWC Archaeology & Anthropology Department under the direction of Dr. Steven Howard, with support from the Wyoming Innovation Partnership (WIP) and the Sunrise Historic and Prehistoric Preservation Society (SHAPPS).
This exciting event will feature presentations from seven distinguished speakers, the exclusive premiere of the Sunrise documentary, and a special open house at our Sunrise archaeology site. Join us for a unique opportunity to engage with groundbreaking research, connect with professionals in the field, and experience the past brought vividly to life.
Although this is a FREE event, we kindly ask that you register in advance so we can plan appropriately and ensure the best experience for all participants.

If I register, do I have to come to all events?
While we would appreciate you coming to all of our events, it’s okay to miss an event or to simply go to those that you’re interested in attending.
If it's free, why do I have to register?
While all of our events are FREE, we kindly ask that you register in advance so we can plan appropriately and ensure the best experience for all participants.
Do I have to register online? Can I register by phone or email?

For the events at the Sunrise Mine, is there anything I should bring?
We only have light snacks at our site at Sunrise. Hence, please consider bringing water for the day (or your beverage of choice) and lunch.
Any recommendations on what I should wear for the events at Sunrise?
Ideally, you should wear comfortable clothes that you aren’t afraid to get dirty.
Do I have to donate to attend the events?
While we would appreciate any donation to our Archaeology & Anthropology Fund, it is not required.
