Eastern Wyoming College has announced that Julie Sherbeyn has been hired as the new EWC women’s volleyball coach. She replaces Coach Verl Petsch who is retiring after 40 years at the helm.

Sherbeyn has over nineteen years of coaching experience with various organizations, including the last five years as head coach at Illinois Valley Community College. She has success recruiting athletes for NJCAA competition and helped many further their athletic careers at NCAA and NAIA colleges throughout the country. Coach Sherbeyn’s teams have finished the last two seasons with 20+ wins in region IV competition. Her athletes are also successful in the classroom with the team having an accumulative grade point average of 3.23.

“My family and I are very excited to become a part of the Lancer community, and I’m looking forward to the challenge of upholding the rich tradition of Eastern volleyball. I’m currently recruiting for the upcoming season to complement Coach Petsch’s talented returning sophomores, and am anxious to begin work preparing our Lady Lancers for the future,” shared Sherbeyn.

She has also worked as the director of the Illinois Valley Volley Power club, working with the most talented volleyball athletes in the region. This involvement has allowed for the recruitment of top regional players for the IVCC program.
