The Athletic Department at Eastern Wyoming College is pleased to announce a new athletic training partnership with Banner Health Community Hospital. During the three-year agreement they will be the official healthcare partner for the college Athletic Department and will provide team rehabilitation and athletic training services at all college practices and athletic events.
“Eastern Wyoming College is very excited to begin this new partnership with our long-term neighbor, Banner Health Community Hospital. Their support allows us to better care for our student athletes and that benefits everyone,” shared EWC President Dr. Richard Patterson.
A full-time certified athletic trainer from Community Hospital will be exclusively responsible to the EWC Athletic Department for practices and games. The hospital is currently recruiting a certified athletic trainer to fill that position. In the meantime, they have provided a physical therapist who has been working with the student athletes. The trainer provided to EWC will be assisted by Kyle Telford, DPT, the hospital’s senior manager of rehab services. Student athletes who are under the care of the athletic trainer will be able to us the equipment at Community Hospital’s Rehab Services Department.
“We are looking forward to working with Banner Health Community Hospital for the next three years with our student athletes,” shared EWC Athletic Director Tom Andersen. “They have already helped us remodel our training room and have equipped that room with 2 Game Ready machines and sleeves for joints and an ultrasound/electrical muscle stimulation machine. It will be a great partnership.”
