EWC brings home Saddle Bronc and Tie-Down Roping Wins at Chadron State Rodeo

Eastern Wyoming College freshman Lane Hall, Winner, SD, placed 1st in Saddle Bronc riding with 137 points. Sophomore, Riley Pruitt, Gering , NE continues his championship Tie-Down Roping quest with a time of  18.7 seconds for a 1st place finish. Troy Wilcox, Red Owl, SD, kicked off the weekend with a second place finish in the 1st round, and was 5th overall in the Tie- Down roping and 3rd overall in steer wrestling. Second place finishers were freshman Trey Fortune, Milesville, SD, steer wrestling, sophomore Trae Seebaum, Douglas, WY, along with partner freshman Trae Kautzman, Wolcott, ND, in the team roping.
Other event winner’s on the men’s team in bull riding were freshmen Tyler Thorson of Towner, ND, was 5th overall, Jordan McAllister of Gering, NE, earned 6th in the 1st round. The team roping duo of Derek Weinreis, of Sentinel Butte, ND, and Levi O’keefe, of Mohall, ND were 4th in the 1st round and 6th overall in team roping.
EWC sophomore Shelby Winchell, Scottsbluff, NE, had times of 8.5 and 7.5 for a total of 16 seconds to win fourth place in the goat tying. Other Lady Lancer freshmen placing in goat tying were Sadie Gjermundson, of Halliday, ND, placed 6th overall, Mardee Sierks of Brewster, NE was 3rd in the 1st go and 8th overall.

The Lancer rodeo team will travel to Riverton to compete at the Central Wyoming College rodeo this weekend.
