July 15, 2019

The Eastern Wyoming College Board of Trustees have appointed Colby Ochsner, Lingle, WY, to fill the at-large trustee seat vacated by the resignation of Dr. Darrell Wilkes.

Ochsner is a lifelong learner and strategic thinker. He grew up on a family farm/ranch outside of Lingle, Wyoming. He received his education in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship at the University of Wyoming, and an MBA in Sustainable Business Systems from Pinchot University in Seattle, Washington. His graduate studies focused on entrepreneurship and agriculture, and he was able to gain an additional certificate in Sustainable Agricultural Systems.

“It is a privilege to be chosen to work alongside the other trustees to continue furthering the mission of the college, and I’m excited to begin,” said Ochsner.

Dr. Lesley Travers, EWC President added the following, “We had 6 excellent candidates for the Board.  It was terrific to see such awesome community interest for the open board position.  The board had some tough decisions and made a great choice in Colby.  He brings some fresh ideas to the board and we are lucky to get him.  He is another busy guy, and I look forward to working with him.  His education and work experience are great assets and we will be using his knowledge to our benefit.”

He currently works on his family’s farm and ranch. He also spends time as a marketing, agriculture, and entrepreneurship consultant.
