VetFolio is an online resource of veterinary educational materials.  This resource is provided by North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA); both of which are top non-profit associations in the veterinary medicine industry.

NAVC is an organization that provided education to the global veterinary community to promote a higher standard of veterinary care.  The 2017 NAVC conference was attended by over 17,100 people from more than 70 countries.  Inside NAVC, the official NAVC conference publication, is where Semmler was featured for her innovative use of VetFolio to educate veterinary technology students.

Semmler first learned about this educational tool at the 2015 NAVC Conference and quickly shared the resource with her colleagues and students.  VetFolio provides instructors and students with a large variety of current information on animal health issues.  There are videos, webinars, courses, conference proceedings and more on the site.  There is also certification programs available which Semmler has encouraged students to complete to assist the students as they seek employment.

EWC program director Dr. Susan Walker, DVM shared the following on Semmler’s recent recognition, “I admire Cristi’s enthusiasm and drive to educate our students.  She is passionate about gaining knowledge both for herself and others.  She is deserving of this recognition by VetFolio.”

Semmler was one of two individuals featured in the publication.  Recently she completed a six-course series on veterinary forensic science and medicine and animal crime scene investigation through VetFolio.
