EWC volleyball student athletes receive Region IX honors

Eastern Wyoming College women’s volleyball player Helena Khouri, sophomore, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was named to the Region IX North All-Region Team and named Libero of the year. She also made Second Team WCCAC All-Conference.

Lissette Lefforge, freshman, Otis, CO, and Khouri were named to the Region IX North All-Tournament Team. The Lancers received the Sportsmanship Award for the tournament for the second consecutive year.

“It has been my honor to work with both of these young women. We are looking forward to welcoming Lissette back for her sophomore season next fall. She will undoubtedly continue to make her mark in the region. Helena is such a talented player, and is so deserving of the recognition she has received this season. She will represent our college and Region IX well as an All-American nominee, and we are excited to follow her career in the NCAA,” said Coach Julie Sherbeyn.
