Eastern Wyoming College is accredited through the North Central Association – The Higher Learning Commission. EWC was recommended for a ten-year reaccreditation following the Higher Learning Commission HLC team visit in 2010. EWC notified HLC that it would enter the Open Pathway track for accrediting.

A Focus visit and report emphasizing improvement on ethnic diversity among students and staff was submitted in 2014. The college was working on diversity initiatives and formed a campus wide diversity committee, a student multicultural diversity club and was focused on ways to engage the Hispanic community and improve multi-cultural awareness.

Currently, EWC’s Persistence and Completion Academy Committee, made up of eighteen members, are actively developing appropriate data, plans and strategies on addressing specific issues in student persistence and completion. Data is researched in specific cohorts of students. The Committee will define, track and analyze data to establish clear goals for student population groups and connect persistence and completion efforts to improve student learning.

The first assignment was to develop a Data Summary Book. This was used as an instrument at the 2015, Academy Roundtable in Chicago, Illinois. The Academy Roundtable was designed to help Academy Teams begin planning and developing strategies for improving student persistence and completion. The Roundtable included informational plenary sessions and dedicated team breakout time. Six of the EWC Persistence and Completion team members attended this event and used the Data Summary Book to guide their work during the roundtable session.

The next visit is scheduled for 2020-2021. The Initiative Proposal is due August 31, 2018, and the Quality Initiative Report is due on August 31, 2020
