It is impossible to overemphasize the value of mathematics as a tool in other fields, notably engineering, physical science, and statistics. Recent developments in the biological, behavioral, and social sciences have drawn attention to the power of mathematics in these fields also.
Along with the teaching of mathematics and research into pure mathematics, students majoring in mathematics also have many other options open to them such as but not limited to: teaching, actuarial science,
computer science, operations research, biomathematics, cryptography and finance.
Our department has five full-time faculty dedicated to student success. Small class sizes promote individualized attention attention in traditional mathematics course as well as a variety of developmental courses.
As a regionally accredited college our classes have full transferability to all regional universities and colleges.
