Hathaway Scholarship Information

The state of Wyoming established a generous scholarship program in the name of former Wyoming Governor Stan Hathaway that rewards eligible Wyoming-resident students with scholarship money to attend a Wyoming Community College or the University of Wyoming. The program provides merit and need-based awards to eligible students.

Applying for Hathaway at EWC?

• Complete the Hathaway Scholarship Application to use for Fall and/or Spring semesters at EWC.

• If you would like to use the Hathaway Scholarship in the Summer, please complete the Summer Hathaway Scholarship Application

• Interested in the Hathaway Need-Based Award? Students qualifying for the merit portion of Hathaway Scholarships may qualify for additional funds. Students seeking a Need-Based Award must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

How much money can I get?

Qualifying students may receive a percentage of their “unmet need” based on their eligible Hathaway scholarship level.

Provisional Opportunity – 25% of unmet need
Opportunity – 25% of unmet need
Performance – 25% of unmet need
Honors – 100% of unmet need

How is “Unmet Need” calculated?

Start with Eastern Wyoming College’s Cost of Attendance. The Eastern Wyoming College Financial Aid Office will help you calculate this number, which includes allowances for the cost of tuition, fees, books, room/board, transportation and personal/miscellaneous expenses.
